Homework Answers

Answer #1

16. ANH- Excessive blood volume.

ANH- or Atrial natriuretic hormone is secreted when our blood volume increases drastically. It is secreted from right atrium of our heart.

It acts by-

  • Increasing renal excretion of water and electrolytes.
  • Vasodilation and
  • Increases vascular permeability of blood plasma proteins.

17. Aldosterone - Drop in blood sodium levels.

Drop in blood sodium results in decreased blood pressure. It stimulates secretion of aldosterone from zona glomerulosa of adrenal cortex.

Its secretion is not dependent on potassium levels.
