A germ cell divides to give rise to two daughter cells. Each of the two daughter cells then divides to give rise to two daughter cells. Is the genetic information found in the first two daughter cells identical? Explain your answer.
Ans. The genetic information that found in the first two daughter cells are not indentical. Since in this case germ cells are dividing through meiosis and Meiosis lead to the formation of four haploid cells at the end. First germ cells divides to give rise to two daughter cells in which a diploid germ cell undergoes meiosis 1 and cause the separation of homologous chromosome and each of daughter cells would get sister chromatids which belong to one is from father and one is from mother. Therefore, the sister chromatids are from different parents, that's why each of daughter cell will be having different kind of genetic information.
