Protein structures are indeed inportant topic in biology an chemistry because it is through these small molecular interactions that they are enabled to perform their task on the whole. The protein structures are indeed maintained at their mode primarily by hydrophobic effects apart from the interactions that indeed get to act between polar residues as well as the other type of bonds. Heating and increasing the temperatures can disrupt the hydrogen bonds between proteins and this can be responsible for the loss of native structure of proteins. The consequences include no binding of antigen, ceasing of function of enzyme etc.
