The term "inflorescence" refers to the arrangement of flowers on a floral axis. One of the advantages of flowers growing as an inflorescence is in Poliination. With a number of florets on a flowering axis, the chances of self-pollination increases. Also, a massive floweing axis is more visible to pollinating agents such as birds and insects.

Solitary flower means one flower at a specific position of a plant, either on terminal position or axillary position. One of the advantages of solitary flowers is Cross-pollination, i.e., presence of a solitary plant promotes cross-pollination which leads to genetic variation and natural selection of the plants with advantageous traits.
