TAMs are found in the microenvironment of solid tumours which are mainly involved in cancer related inflammation. They have a very weak ability to present antigen unlike macrophages. They can enhance proliferation, invasion and metastasis of tumor cells; and by stimulating angiogenesis, inhibiting T-cell mediated anti tumor immune response promote progression of tumor.
