1. Why does the structure difference of ribose and deoxyribose matter in protein synthesis?

The ribose sugar has a hydroxyl group attached, rather than a hydrogen atom. As a result, the hydroxyl groups are present in the 2nd, 3rd as well as 5th carbon atom. The ribonucleotide will be formed as a result of ribose sugar as well as a nitrogenous base. As the phosphate atom would be attached, there may either be a pyrimidine base or a purine base, which form the amino acid types. Amino acids are the basic units of protein formation. If deoxyribose is attached with the phosphate atom, it will form the DNA. Hence, this structural difference cause for proteins.
