What is the difference between a prokaryotic bacterial cell and a eukaryotic host cell in hypertonic environments?....in hypotonic environments
Please give a thumbs up.
Prokaryotic cells in hypertonic environment usually lose water and shrink themselves.when they are placed in hypotonic environment the cell shape does not change and they maintain their structure.
Eukaryotic cells in a hypotonic solution take the water into them and bulge or swell. In hypertonic solutions both the cells behave the same way.Eukaryotes also lose water and shrink in size.
These differences in these cells are mainly due to the structure difference of the cell and the cell wall surrounding them.
