Explain how species interactions (facillitation, tolerance or inhibition) can affect succession
Facilitation model
It is a process where one or more species alter the environment
make more suitable for one or more species to enter in large
number. Eg. Nitrogen fixation by bacteria makes plant grown in that
region.
Inhibition model
It is a process where one or more species alter the environment
makes negative effect for other species prevent it growth. Eg,
Soil-borne pathogens associated with particular plant that compete
out
earlier in succession.
Tolerance model
It is a process where one or more species alter the environment but
it not have any effect on some species. Eg. floral succession
(secondary), in which all spp present as seed bank in soil.
