Explain why you might expect to find lower concentrations of CO in Beijing during summer than in Los Angeles during winter.
The CO or any otehr pollutant level varies with temporal variations, seasonal changes or other man made factors. The concentration of outdoor CO us usually higher in winter and lower during summer. In winter the decay of vegetative matter creating lowest ventillation capability. The summer the plants build up lot of organic matter and tissue types, this reduces the emmision of CO. Also due to low temperature in winter, the air gets denser and settles in lower atmosphere. This creates higher concentration of CO. In summer air is light and hot, and air rises above the surface, thus clearing the air and with it less of CO.
