The gametes (n) carry only one allele from two alleles present in germ cells (2n). Gametes are produced by the process of meiosis. In 1st meiotic division, the number of chromosomes is getting half so meiosis is also called as reduction division.

AaBB individual can produce two types of gametes. From the A and a alleles, A allele is selected for 1st gamete and a is selected for the second gamete. In both cases B allele is selected for the both gametes, as the individual is in homozygous condition for B allele. So, two types of gamates will be produced and they are AB and aB.
