Explanation- Algin is abumdant in the cell wall of certain forms of kelp.Alginates are commonly used in jams, jellies and marmalades and also used as stabilizers in prepared whipped-cream where they help provide a creamy texture and prevent formation of ice crystals. Ammonium alginate is found in pie filling,calcium alginate is used in icings and sodium alginate is used in desserts, puddings, sauces etc.

kelps consider as protist because  kelp are not considered to possess more than one clearly defined tissue type and cell complexity that is possessed by plants.
