how do the stages in the cell cycle relate to a neurons position as it undergoes interkinetic nuclear migration
Neurons arise during development from pseudostratified columnar epithelium composed of mitotically active neuroepitheilal cells. These cells have elongated with cytoplasm connections at both apical and basal surfaces. Their nuclei occupy different levels with in the epithelium depends upon the phase of cell cycle. M phase (mitotic phase nuclei are lie close proximity to apical surface. During S phase DNA synthesis phase nuclei lie more basally. This migration of nucleus is known as interkitnetic nuclear migration.
Factors:: Actin (protein), microtubules (cytoskeleton ), Dynein (protein).
