eIF-2-GTP brings the initiator tRNA to the P site of the ribosome in eukaryotes.The initiator tRNA carrying methionine amino acid forms peptide bond with the amino acyl tRNA's amino acid at the A site by the enzyme peptidyl transferase.Once the peptide bond is formed,the methionine is transferred to the amino acyl tRNA's amino acid and the tRNA at the P site moves to the E site and the tRNA at the A site (carrying growing polypeptide chain) moves to the P site so that vacant A site is produced for the next cycle to begin.
