Discuss the role of fishery in enhancement of food production.

Fishery arise as an industry that includes catching of fishes or many aquatic species with high economic value. Processing as well as marketing are also comes under this industry. There are some aquatic species that are economically important are marine and water fishes, lobsters, prawns,octopus and oysters. In Indian economy, fisheries perform an essential role. That is why major portion of the population in India depend on aquatic animals(fishes) as a supply of food, that is rich in protein and cheaper too. Fishery is also creating employment particularly for those people who are living in coastal areas.
