Which of the following is required by DNA polymerase? (multiple answers may apply)

Select one or more:

a. RNA primer

b. dNTPs

c. template DNA

d. DNA primer

e. amino acids

Homework Answers

Answer #1

a),c and b

DNA polymerase require DNA template and RNA primer and dNTP.

Template DNA strand :- DNA helicase cause separation of 2 DNA strands each strand act as a template strand on which new DNA strand is formed .

Replication requirements:- RNA primer :- short strand of RNA to which growing polynucleotide chain is covalently bound in early stages of replication.

dNTP stands for deoxyribonucleotide triphosphate. Each dNTP is made up of deoxy ribose sugar, phosphate group ,nitrogenous base .Four different types of dNTP are present.
