Explain how the Golgi apparatus functions in the packaging, storage, and distribution of molecules produced by the ER. Give example no copy and paste
Cells have the capability to synthesize a large number of different macromolecules. The golgi apparatus is one of those important macromolecules synthesized by the cells. It is made up of membrane-bound sacsand its job is to process and bundle macromolecules like proteins and lipids. It plays an integral role in modifying, sorting, and packaging these macromolecules for cell secretion(exocytosis) or use within the cell.
The golgi bodies primarily modifies proteins delivered from the rough endoplasmic reticulum(RER) and also is involved in the transport of lipids around the cell, and the creation of lysosomes. In simpler words, it packages and labels items which it then sends to different parts of the cell.
