Question

Explain in diagram the process of making ATP in the electron transfer system.

Explain in diagram the process of making ATP in the electron transfer system.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

It occurs in mitochondria.

Electron transfer from NADH to Fe+2 ion of FMN. During that one proton injected inside the mitochondria.

Then electron transfer to CoQ and then CytC1.

CytC1 injectes one proton inside mitochondria and transfer electron to next CoQ.

It transfer electron to Fe of FAD.

It gives electron to Cyt a-a3 complex.

Cut a-a3 complex injectes proton inside mitochondria and transfer electron to water molecules.

Thus a proton gradient produce inside mitochondria.

This gradient use in ATP synthesis.
