Describe all of the roles which Thrombin plays in the Hemostasis.
Hemostasis is the response of a human body to blood vessel injury and bleeding by which the body stops bleeding from the cut or injured area.
Thrombin is a molecule which converts insoluble fibrinogen in the blood to soluble fibrin which acts as a molecular glue during the formation of clot, thus holding the blood platelets together. Thus thrombin plays a major role in clot promotion and inhibition.along with cell signaling and additional processes which influence fibrinolysis and inflammation. All these functions require fully coordinated numerous cleavage reactions. If these functions are not carried out properly,it may lead to bleeding or thrombosis.
