Level of Gene expression in atypical embryo :

A) At DNA level - epigenetic control or DNA methylation patterns that govern wether the transcription will take place or not.

At RNA level : Transcriptional control - presence of maternal factors that drive the transcription of zygotic genes . Influence of chromatin structure on transcription results in repression or stimulation of gene expression. Covalent Histone modifications also control gene transcription . Nucleosome remodeling : it involves a change in structure of nucleosome but no change in its position .

Post - transcriptional gene control

A) RNA interference : it causes RNA silencing by small silencing RNA in a sequence- specific manner.

Post - translational control : it is the covalent modification of protein.
