What are the two main morphological patterns of cnidarians? Concerning locomotion, how are these forms different from each other?

Answer #1

Morphologically, cnidarians classify as polyps or medusae. Polyps are cylindrical and medusae are round convex, like an umbrella. each shapes have tentacles.

In simple terms polyps are sessile however some species, like hydra, can circulate via alternating contact points on the substrate and acting somersaults. Medusae can move expelling water jets by means of contraction of the body.A few cnidarians exchange polypoid and medusoid paperwork in their life cycle.
