The main virus that causes flu is INFLUENZA and it is a highly mutant DNA virus.The main reason that our body doesn't produce immunity against the flu virus was it has many different strains and also because of its high mutation rate,our body produce a temporary immunity instead of permanent immunity towards this virus by taking proper medical care.

The flu vaccine which is given to a patient causes antibodies which develops immunity in the patient body within a few days after vaccination and keeps the patient free from flu virus.
