Answer #1

Equation=M1V1 = M2V2.

M1- concentration in molarity of the Intial concentrated solution=20M=20 moles/litre

M2 - concentration in molarity of the Final dilute solution=40micro M=40*10 -6 M=40*10 -6moles/litre(1M=106microM)

V1- volume of the concentrated solution=?

V2 - volume of the dilute solution=10 ml

M1V1=M2V2,Substituting the Value

20*V1=(40*10 -6)*10=40*10*10 -6

V1=(400/20)*10 -6=20 *10 -6 ml=20*10 -6 ml=2*10-5 ml=2*10-5*103 microlitre(1 ml =1000microlitre)

=0.02 Microlitre.

NB:From the Given Values the answer will be 0.02 microlitre.

To get 20 Microlitre there may be some correction in the question.(if Instead of 40 μM NaCl,If this is 40mM Then You will 20 Microlitre)Please check your Question.

1)You are given a protein solution with a concentration of 0.15 mg/ml. We need 10 µg for an experiment. What volume of the protein solution do we need? My answer: Convert 0.15 mg/ml to μg/ μl and you will get 150 μg/ μl.
