Answer #1

According to Mendel’s law, phenotypical characteristics are determined by pairs of factors (alleles) that separate independently in gametes.

But several types of inheritance that are exceptions to the Mendel's rules that include:

  • Multiple alleles, do not follow the Mendel's rules
  • Gene interactions (complementary genes, epistasis and quantitative or polygenic, inheritance) do not follow the Mendel's rules
  • Llinkage with or without crossing over do not follow the Mendel's rules
  • Sex-linked inheritance do not follow the Mendel's rules
  • Pleiotropy, the lack of dominance and lethal genes cannot be classified as variations of inheritance and do not follow the Mendel's rules
  • Mutations and aneuploidies also alter the Mendelian pattern of inheritance
  • Mutations and aneuploidies also alter the mitochondrial inheritance
