Ans(e) : Pileus ( The above features shown in question belongs to edible basidiomycota - Agaricus , in which the dome shaped structure is called as pileus.)
- Agaric basidiocarps / fruiting bodies are often umbrella shaped with a centrally attached stalk(stipe) , supporting cap (pileus) beneath which are gills or tubes lined by basidia. The gills develop in radially arranged ridges made up of downward growing hyphae, terminating in a tightly packed palisade of cells which represents the basidia.
- The margins of pileus are connected with stipe with the help of a membrane called veil or velum which is intac at early stages of growth but , as pileus expnads , it ruptures & remains in the form a ring called annulus. There is a constriction between stipe & pileus.
- The stipe is fleshy & made up of mass of hyphae providing support to pileus .
