Homo florensis is a dwarf descendant homo erectus (which were tall).

There are many theories for this differance like it says homo florensis have made enough treacherous water crossing to reach the island, which led to decrease in the body structure with time.

This dwarfness can also be linked to the availability of the nutrients in the environment, like the isolated island, where these homo florensis were living.

There was very low migration also in the island, leading to reduce gene flow and in-breeding depression.
