Ans :-) Leptin is a key hormone in energy homeostasis. It regulates neuroendocrine function including reproduction. It has permitive role in the initiation of puberty and maintainace of hypothalamic pituitary and gonadal axis. Letin is important for normal reproduction function. Obesity is the main cause of infertility canbe controlled by Leptin concentration. Low Leptin levels may negatively influence the neuroendocrine regulation with a thersold level being permessive to normal reproduction. While elevated Leptin levels may negatively influence normal ovarian function or embryo development and viability.
