Use the GPCR pathways to discuss examples of the three types of ligand/receptor interaction
There are different kinds of ligand-receptor interaction :
Vander Waal
Ionic and
covalent interactions
incase of GPCR,
the initial interaction of ligand to the receptors is generally ionic interactions, now after the ligand gets bound to the receptor it triggers conformation changes that might result in the binding of cytosolic targets partner through Vander Waal interactions and results further into the covalent modification of addition of phosphate group to active Serine or Threonine residues.
