β oxidation catabolism pathway for fat and oil ? show the steps of this pathway ?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer- beta oxidation is the degradation of fatty acids to form acetyl co A to enter into krebs cycle and continue cellular respiration to generate energy.

The first steo of beta oxidation occurs in cytosol ,and the product acyl co A is carried over to mitochondria by carnitine carrier transport system.

Pathway in attached image.
