Which experiment(s) do you suggest to determine whether your culture contains a bacteria or an archaea?
Option B:all proposed answers are appropriate experiments.
Archea are microorganisms which have similarity to bacteria in aspects of size and simplicity of structure,But are different in molecular organization. Now,Archea are considered as an Ancient group which are intermedaiate to Bacteria and Eukaryotes.
The major Differences Between Archea and Bacteria are-
1.Composition Of Cell wall-
* Archea cell wall lacks peptidoglycan, made of lipids with hydrocarbons.Bacterial Cell wall contain Peptidoglycan.
2.They are Extremophile-That is they withstand High temperature,Salt Concentration,High pH etc
3.Ribosomes work is more like the eukaryotic ribosomes.
4.They have 3 RNA polymerases like eukaryotes.
5.Behaviour of Genes and Enzymes more like Eukaryotes when compared to Prokaryotes.
So Archea can be differentiated from Bacteria by all the listed Experiments
