If 40% of students in a class have dimples, and 50% of these students have the genotype DD, what are the phenotypic and genotypic frequencies for dimples in the class?

I have answered the question in the image below using the Hardy Weinberg equation and Mendel's law of inheritance. Dominant allele in the class is 0.3 or 30 percent and recessive allele in the class is 0.7 or 70 percent and 60 percent in the class do not have dimples whereas 40 percent do have dimples (0.2 or 20 percent are heterozygous for the trait)

Please give a thumbs up if the answer helped you. Thank you! :)

Mathephobia is a dreaded (but hypothetical) recessive condition that causes students to go into convulsions whenever they see formulas in biology class. D is the normal allele, d is the mathephobia allele. DD and Dd individuals are normal dd individuals are Mathephobic In a class of 100 biology students, 32 had convulsions during their first population genetics lecture. Assume that students are a representative sample of a population at Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. a) What is the frequency of the mathephobia (d)...

Suppose that in a class of 50 students, 5 students have perfect attendance and 4 students fail. Exactly one student with perfect attendance fails the class. [Assume that everyone either fails or passes the class; no incomplete grades.] e) What is the probability that a student passes the class and has perfect attendance? f) What is the probability that a student misses at least one day of class?

Suppose the human trait for dimplesis controlled by a simple dominant and recessive relationship at one locus. You wanted to determine the frequency of people with dimples in the city of Doral. Of the 1500 people you surveyedin downtown Doral, 1172 have dimples. Calculate the frequency of the having dimples –dominant allele,D–and the heterozygous genotype, Dd. Express the frequencies in decimal form rounded to the nearest thousandth. Assume the population in the city of Doralis in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium for this...

It is estimated that 40% of students have bicycle. You randomly selects 50 different students across campus if they own a bicycle. Let X be the number of student that own a bicycle. (a) Can we approximate X as a normal distribution? If so, explain why and determine the Model. (b) Calculate the probability that 23 or more students out of 50 have a bicycle using the Normal Approximation.

The genotype for a single gene (Br) was determined in a population of tomato plants and the genotypic frequencies were found to be: .50 BrBr .40 Brbr .10 brbr Each individual in this population was inbred by self-pollination and the subsequent population was again self-pollinated. What would be the expected frequencies of heterozygous and homozygous recessive individuals in the resulting population? Choose the best answer.

In a certain state, 30% of students will take an AP class, 40% of students will play a school sport, and 15% of students will do both. If we randomly selected a student, find the following: (a) the probability the student will play a sport, but not take an AP class. An examination was given to two classes consisting of 40 and 50 students, respectively. In the first class the mean grade was 74 with a standard deviation of 8, while in the second class the mean grade was 78 with a standard deviation of 7. Is there a significant difference between the performance of the two classes at a level of significance of 5%?
