Describe where the name "coronavirus" originates from and why?
Corona virus are a group of viruses which lead to respiratory infections. They were discovered long back in 1930's. The mere fact that there genomes are easily mutated, due to their adaptations to genetic selections, is one of the root cause for the challenges in developing an effective vaccine against it.
The name coronavirus, according to the literatures, is said to be originating from the ancient greek term korone latin corona, it means crown or wreath. These sets of viruses when examined under electron microscope, had spikes (proteins) surrounding its structure resembling like a crown or aura around the sun, so the virologists named them corona virus.
