Ascaris lumbricoides is a cylindrical pinkish or whitish monogenetic parasite of human. It is a nematode and most common parasite for human intestine. The disease caused by Ascaris called ascariasis.

The first clinical sign of infections are pulmonary phase in which ascaris larvae migrate from intestine to other organs.

Usual symptons of pulmonary phase are ------

Cough

Dyspnea

Substernal pain

Pneumonitis ( pneumonia like syndrome )

Whereas the adult worms reside in the intestine causes digestive disorder , this phase of ascariasis is the intestinal phase.

Symptoms are-----

Vomiting

Diarrhoea

Weakness

Constipation

Abdominal pain
