Cadherin is responsible for binding cells together. It a type of cell adhesion molecule. Organs are made up of cells. By binding cells together, Cadherin plays an important role in organ formation. Cadherins interact with other intracellular components to form adherens junctions and provide mechanical attachments between adjacent cells. For proper organ formation, expression of E-Cadherin must be regulated. If the E-Cadherin expression is not properly regulated, it will lead to abberations.
