Answer #1

True, both compact bone and red bone marrow are types of connective tissue.

Compact bone is also known as cortical bone and it is a type of bone connective tissue. It is made up of osteons and blood vessels and nerves are found in its opening called Haversian canal. Compact bone is found in the shaft (or diaphysis) of a long bone and on the surface of the flat bones.

Red bone marrow is soft connective tissue and it is found inside a marrow cavity. In newborns, all marrow is red bone marrow but in adults, it is mainly replaced by yellow marrow. In adults, red bone marrow is present in the femur, ribs, vertebrae, and pelvic bones. It contains hematopoietic cells that produce red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets by the process called hematopoiesis.
