Answer #1

# Type 2 diabetese mellitus is characterised by increased blood glucose level, insulin resistance and lack of insulin.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 is an incretin that has the capability to reduce the blood glucose level. This enhances the secretion of insulin based on the glucose level.

Since type 2 diabetese is characterised by lack of insulin, this GLP-1 will help in the treatment of this disease. Research showed that action of GLP-1 is preserved in thsese patients which will help in the development of treatment.
