Artificial selection is a process by which human beings use animal breeding to selectively develop particular phenotypic traits in animals. Natural selection is the survival and reproduction of individuals due to differences in phenotype.  Those variations in the genotype that increase an organism's chances of survival and reproduction are preserved and multiplied from generation to generation at the expense of less advantageous one. Presence of webbed feet and absence of the same are both due to natural selection. In ducks, presence of webbed feet is adavantageous, hence the lineage with webbed feet survived. In humans, a webbed feet would have been disadvantageous, since they live in a terrestrial environment.
