Which of the following techniques can be used to directly manipulate the transcription of a specific gene in a brain region?

A. Injection of a viral vector into the brain

B. HDAC inhibitor treatment

C. Injection of an antibody into the brain

D. DNMT inhibitor treatment

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Glioma is the most common form of primary malignant brain tumors, accounting for nearly 30% of all brain tumors, and also one of the most lethal. Currently, among the epigenetic treatments, DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) inhibitors and histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACIs) can be used for the treatment of tumors, either individually or in combination. However, in the treatment of glioma, only HDAC Inhibitor treatment remains a good option due to the complicated pathogenesis of glioma, epigenetic applications to glioma clinical treatment are still limited.

B. HDAC Inhibitor treatment
