Ans:-) The sense of taste and smell are related to each other. This is because they use same type of receptors and stimulated by molecules in air or water (stimuli). If anyone's sense of smell is not functional then his sense of taste would also not be functional because of same receptors.

Both smell and taste uses chemical receptors. The chemoreception for taste occurs via presence of taste buds within mouth.They are activated when they receive specific stimulus (salty, sweet, bitter, sour). These taste buds are located on tongue. They signal then to brain.

In addition to taste receptors, there are receptors within nose that work in coordination with taste receptors. Both these together form a flavour.
