Explain internal respiration, mechanical respiration and cellular respiration in detail and how they are dependent processes.
Sketch a free energy diagram of cellular respiration showing the 3 stages.
Internal respiration : exchange of gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place between tissues and blood i.e. from capillaries into tissue.
mechanical respiration : it is a mechanical process where air moves in and out of the lungs by using device called ventilator for assisted respiration. in this type of respiration mechanical device is used to inflate and deflate of lungs.
cellular repiration: this is a complex process where oxygen is used to break down food (glucose) to release energy in the form of ATP and CO2 is produced as a waste product. it consist of 3 phases:
glycolysis tha takes place in the cytoplasm, kreb cycle that takes place in mitochondrial matrix and electron transport chain in inner membrane of mitochondria.
