1. Both the gymnosperms and angiosperms are tracheophytes ( presence of xylem).

2. Both are flowering plants

3. Both are seed bearing plants

Differences.

1. Flowers and fruits are present in angiosperms whereas absent in gymnosperms.

2. Double fertilization is present in angiosperms but absent in gymnosperms

3. Companion cells are present in angiosperms whereas in gymnosperms, albuminous cells are present instead of companion cells.

Examples.

Gymnosperms. Pinus, Cycas

Angiosperms. Ground nut, Chuck pea
