Describe the cellular location, main components and main function of this complex.
can u tell me please
question is based on cellular bioenergetics
it's dehydrogenase complex
ANS-function-Dehydrogenase complex is a multi subunit protein that oxidises pyruvate to acetate in the form of acetyl CoA this reaction is called as oxidative decarboxylation .
Presence-It is present in mitochondria because oxidation of pyruvate is taking place there, the reaction is
pyruvate +NAD++CoA give rise to Acetyl CoA + NADH+CO2
structure -pyruvate dehydrogenase component E1 - 30 subunits each is having thiamine pyrophosphate .It catalyse decarboxylation and oxidation on pyruvate to hydroxyethyl group
Dihydroliopyl transacetylase E2-transfer acteyl group to coenzyme A
Dihydroliopyl dehydrogenase E3-catalyse the regeneration of oxidized form of li[oamide with concomitant reduction of NAD+ to NADH
its function can be inhibited by high concentration of NADH,phosphorylation of E1 component ,increase in ca2+ concentration.
