Imagine that you must perform a transformation by thermal shock. But when doing the preparation, you realize that you do not have calcium available for the procedure. Can the transformation be carried out without the calcium? What will be the consequences? 

Do bacteriophages have the ability to infect more than one bacterial genus? If yes, please provide an example of a bacteriophage that has the ability to infect multiple microbial species.
