Describe from a neurobiology perspective, one-way by which our brain allows us to remember.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Memory of remembrance is stored in the brain by the alteration of synaptic transmission Between the neurones involved in memory. Stimulation of facilitatory neuron and sensory neuron leads to release of serotonin from facilitatory terminal on sensory terminal . Formation of serotonin receptor complex is formed . Adenylyl cyclase is activated which leads to formation of cyclic AMP in the sensory terminal. protein kinase is activated . The estimation of protein kinase leads to phosphorylation of potassium ions in the terminal branch . There is a blockage of exit of potassium ions . Continuous action potential for long time leads to continuous influx of calcium ions .This process release large amount of serotonin and an information is processed as memory or remembrance ?
