B option is correct. Population follows two types of growth model based on growth strategies: Exponential or J shaped growth model and logistic or S shaped or sigmoidal growth model. Exponential model is expressed as dN/dT= rN and logistic model is expressed as dN/dT= rN(K-N/K) where, N is initial population, r is biotic potential and K is carrying capacity. Carrying capacity of a given area refers to the amount of natural resources which can sustain the maximum number of population and maximum growth rate is present when N= K/2.
