Answer #1

Answer - virtual water contents is the amount of the water used in producing a product or item. It is the hidden content of the water in production of water . It is an indirect water usage means water usage other than bathing , drinking and cooking.

The virtual water content of hamburger productions is actually higher than the sheet of paper.

The hamburger virtual water content is about 2400 litres which include the water content needed in the crop production and feeding to the cow , then meat slaughtering and processing of the meat .

While for a piece of paper the virtual water content is about 10 litres of water .

Hence hamburger have such a high virtual water content compared to that of a sheet of paper

Shipments of coffee beans are checked for moisture content. High moisture content indicates possible water contamination, leading to rejection of shipment. The µ indicate the mean moisture content (in percent by weight) in shipment, and more than 10% will be rejected and standard deviation is known to be 2%. (a) If 10 measurements will be made on beans chosen, at α = 0.05, what is the power of test if the true moisture content is 12%? (b) If we want...

Agricultural soils in California are high in salt content (assume NaCl). Irrigation water used in growing row crops in CA must be filtered before discharge in rivers and streams, and is typically performed by using reverse osmosis (RO). The water quality standard in CA for salt in ag runoff water is 2.00 parts per thousand (ppt). If irrigation runoff is 58.08 ppt, what applied (hydrostatic) pressure must be used to filter runoff by RO to meet the CA water quality...
