• Come up with a question regarding the feeding behavior of slugs. For example, you might ask, “Do slugs have a color preference in the foods they eat?” Make sure your question is testable with the materials and the amount of time available; your options for slug food will be limited to what plant/fungal materials you can find from walking around campus.

• State your hypothesis (should be something other than color preference). Hint: See p. 1 for a description on what makes for good scientific hypotheses.

• Describe at least one assumption on which your hypothesis is based. In other words, what led you to come up with your hypothesis?

• What results would you expect to see if your hypothesis is supported?

Hypothesis : Do slugs prefer moist food over dry ones?

The assumption is based on the observation that the incidence of finding more slugs in the damp areas and to find out if this nature has a relation with the food habits.

For the support of hypothesis the eating habits may be observed in which they are exposed to dry and wet food.If the result is when the slugs feed more on the wet food then the assumption is supported.

If the hypothesis is not supported no preferential feeding may be observed between moist and dry food.
