protein synthesis occurs in the nucleus of a cell; RNA occurs in othe ribosomes
Protein synthesis occurs in the nucleus of a cell, RNA occurs in the ribosomes?
This statement is false. Protein synthesis occurs in the cytoplasm and mRNA is synthesized in the nucleus in eukaryotes. It is then translocated to cytoplasm with its both ends capped and modified to prevent degradation. Ribosomes which are present in the cytoplasm then recruit translation initiation factors , mRNA ,ribosome, tRNA and amino acid to synthesize the polypeptide. Polypeptide then undergoes conformational changes to form 3D structure which finally forms the protein.
In eukaryotes transcription occurs in nucleus , the mRNA is then transported to cytoplasm for translation .It means transcription and translation occur at different duration .In prokaryotes gene there is no intron therefore transcription is followed by translation.
