Will yeast colonies grow faster in very diluted medium conditions? and what does the CFU/mL value indicate?

Cells will not gorw faster in very dilute medium. When medium are concentrated, yeast cells will grow better,but it will be difficult to count them. However, when medium is diluted there be lesser colonies of yest growth but will be easy to calculate.

CFU/ ml- CFU/ ml is called called conony forming unit /ml. This is the unit for viable cell measurement. This unit is used to calculate the number of viable colonies of bacteria, fungas or cells in per millilter of culture medium.
