Describe, using as many examples as you can, how photosynthesis and cellular respiration are linked.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are linked and one process is revers to the other.

Photosynthesis uses CO2 & H2O as reactant and produces glucose and oxygen as products. The products are used by respiration as reactant and produces CO2 & H2O as products.

Therfore, products of photosynthesis are used as the reactant of cellular respiration whereas the product of cellular respiration are used as the reactants for photosynthesis. Thus photosynthesis and cellular respiration are liked.

The difference between them is photosynthesis is an anabolic process and it use light energy. But cellular respiration is a catabolic reaction and it produces energy in the form of ATP
