How does the xylem produced by conifers differ from that of angiosperms? How could this difference have influenced the present-day distribution of conifers?

Xylem in conifers is made up of tracheids and fibre whereas xylem of angiosperm is made up of vessels ,tracheids and fibres. vessels are more advanced than tracheids because they are broader and they are open at both ends whereas tracheids are long thin and closed.

Due to due to the presence of vessel there is better water conduction and angiosperms as compared to gymnosperms and that's why angiosperms are more dominant and most provide widespread than gymnosperm.
